"ADRA'FEST, taking place from August 9-18, 2024, will bring together important artists from around the world and our country with concerts in Burhaniye Ören, Akçay, Altınoluk, Edremit, Ayvalık, Gömeç, and Havran, connecting them with the Balıkesir Gulf Region."
Organized under the leadership of the Ören Adramytteion Association and under the artistic direction of our violinist Cihat Aşkın, the first ADRA'FEST took place in August 2023. This year, it is preparing to deliver many firsts with more artists and more concerts. The music marathon will start with a concert at the Ören Adramytteion Excavation House on the evening of August 9 and will conclude with a Gala Concert in Burhaniye Square on August 17. With around 20 concerts touching the entire Gulf Region, ADRA'FEST aims to create new concert venues and foster a significant cultural and social transformation.
The Ancient City of Adramytteion is situated approximately 3.5 kilometers west of the center of Burhaniye District, Balıkesir Province, surrounded by an alluvial plain along the coastline, on an elevation with four ridges and its slopes. It is located beneath the Ören District, nestled in a well-preserved state. Under the conditions of the archaeological site, this ancient city, which has been largely untouched beneath the present-day living fabric, stands as one of the rare examples in our country where the intersection of modern and ancient settlements has been preserved, with most of its remains still concealed underground.
